  • Neils (Nils) Dahl was married to Helene Dahl. He emigrated to the United States with his wife and brother, Alexander, on the James Nesmith.

Neils died near Mormon Grove, Kansas. Neils died sometime before October 1855. Jens C. Nielsen visited Mormon Grove in 1855 and describes Neils's resting place in a journal entry dated October 30, indicating that Neils died before that date. And, it is known that Helene traveled the rest of the way to Utah from Mormon Grove as a widow.

Neils does not appear by name on the "Immigration List" in the Deseret News. However, Alexander Dahl does with the number "2" next to his name indicating that two additional people traveled with him. Neils and Helene were those two people.
