  • Emma, her mother, and two siblings arrived in New York on 15 June 1865 via the ship B. S. Kimball. Only her mother's name (recorded as Eleanor) was included on the overland company records as head of household traveling with family. Due to their young age, it is assumed that all three children accompanied their mother on the overland portion of the journey as well.
