I imigrated to America in April 1862, with my two sisters, leaving my father, mother, two sisters and a brother in Sweden. We crossed the ocean in a sailing vessel called The Elictric [Electric], it taking two months to cross. I celebrated my 16th birthday the day before we landed in New York, from which place we took the train to Omaha, which took us a week. After waiting in Omaha a month, we were met with oxen teams from Utah to convey us over the Desert, starting on July 24th. Bro. Horn was Captain of the company it taking three months for us to cross the plains. I walked every step of the way. We had some very pleasant times on our way, and all were happy at the prospects of coming to the land of Zion. We arrived in Salt Lake on Oct. 3rd.
