Bountiful Ward, Manuscript History and Historical Reports, 1849-1925.
In the latter part of 1856, when Pres. Brigham Young called for men and teams to go east for the relief of the belated hand cart train, Bountiful responded liberally. Anson Call, Geo. Summers, Israel Barlow and Peter Cornia were among those who went. Several of the survivors of the hand cart companies settled at Bountiful, and are still (1900) residents of that place.
