And when we had been their in Kanesvill two years we started in 1851 with a Company of emigrants for the Valey of the Great Salt Lake it was Called Eder Orson Pratts emigrating Compny. James W. Cummings was Chosen Captn of the Compy the Compy Consisted of a hundred and fifty waggons and that Company was divided into three fiftys and Wm Bates was Chose Captn of the first fifty, Alfred Cordon was Chosen Captn of the second and Morris Felps was Chose Captn of the third fifty thus Compy was dived into tens and Captns Chose for them and John D.T. McAllister was Chosen as Clerk of the Second fifty I will now give a sketch of our travels from the time we left Kanesville until we arrived in the Valley of the Great Salt Lake which are the travels of the Second fifty. I shall first give the names of the heads of families the number of souls, waggons, oxen, Cows, loose Cattle, and Horses, that belonged to the fifty.
