Abraham Owen Smoot labored as a local Elder in Tennessee and Kentucky. This entry is a letter from Wilford Woodruff, in which he reports the fruits of his labors and mentions Abraham O. Smoot. JH, 23 June 1835. On this day, it was necessary for Abraham O. Smoot to return to his home in the south on account of ill health according to Wilford Woodruff. JH: 23 Jan 1837. Smoot presided at a conference held in Tuscaloosa county, Alabama. He was serving the Five Mile Branch of Perry County, with 22 members. At the conference, he delivered a discourse on the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment.
