The Simons family is seen in Missouri at the time of the 1860 census (enumerated 4 August 1860) and in Payson at the time of rebaptisms performed on 19 April 1863, which was prior to that year's emigration season. Emily's obituary confirms that they traveled to Utah in 1861.
It is assumed that because of his young age, Adelbert was with the rest of the family in 1861. However, first known documentation to place him in Utah is the 1870 census where he is seen with his family in Payson.
