Evidence from emigration and church (Perpetual Emigrating Fund) records proves the Petersen family traveled to Utah in 1863. Ane is listed as Ane Margrethe Dalsgaard on the 1863 B. S. Kimball ship manifest.  The inscription on her gravestone shows her name as Ane Margrethe Baltzersen.

The family came on the B. S. Kimball in1863. They consisted of: father, Soren, Mother Ane Margrethe and children: Baltzar, Peter, Mette and Ane.
