Augusta came to Utah from California between 1856 and 1860.  The first documentation to place her in Utah is the birth of her brother in February 1861 which was prior to the arrival of that season's emigration. Further research is needed to narrow the year of her travel.

In some sources her surname is spelled "Hanset."
