Evidence from emigration, Church (Perpetual Emigrating Fund), and newspaper records proves the Esklund family traveled to Utah in 1863. In some sources the surname is spelled "Eskelund."  They sailed to America in 1863 on the ship B. S. Kimball. 

Her given name is listed as "Catherine" on the ship manifest, the 1880 Utah census, and in her obituary.
