
Charles William Penrose
Born in London, England of Cornish ancestry. Baptized in 1850 and served as a missionary in England. Emigrated to the United States in 1861 and traveled to Utah in the Homer Duncan Wagon Company. Served as mission to England in 1865. After returning to Utah, was editor of the Deseret News. Called as an Apostle in 1904 and as President of the British Mission. Served as a Counselor to Joseph F. Smith and Heber J. Grant.
