Three of their sons, Moses, David Jr., and Joseph, traveled with the Blair company.

The 1850 Utah census incorrectly shows the family's surname as "Celiff."

The family's arrival in Utah in 1850 is mentioned in the obituary of Lavina Cluff Sweat.

At the end of a mission, David returned home with the Russell K. Homer Company in 1858.
