George Baker, Jr.
Genealogical and census records prove that the Baker family came to Utah in 1850. They had a child born in Iowa in 1849, then they were on the 1850 Federal Census for Utah and had a child born in Utah in Sept. 1851. The obituary of Amanda Baker Higley, daughter of George and his wife Rhoda, says that the family traveled to Utah with a company of California bound emigrants.
