Hendrik Van Steeter
Hendrick came from the Netherlands in 1868 on the ship Constitution. His name is not listed on the 1866 Caroline with his family.
He initially traveled to the Valley in 1866 with his family. His name doesn't appear in the handwritten roster. His wife is listed as head of household with her children, but his name is listed in the Deseret News record of the individuals in the company. It is possible that he worked as a teamster during the overland trip west so his name was left off of the list of emigrants. A couple years later he crossed the plains again with the Gillespie's 1868 out-and-back company.
