Jon Jonson

He traveled with his wife, Johanna. Their names are listed as "Yens and Johannes Yonson" on the Deseret News roster.

He married Johanna on the ship William Tapscott. He appears on the ship roster as "Jens Jonsen." Other sources list his name as "Jens," "Jons," "James," and "Henry." 

His surname often appears as "Yonson" (which reflects the Swedish pronunciation of the name), "Jonsen," and "Johnson." The last spelling, "Johnson," appears to be a more recent Americanized spelling of the last name. Evidence has not been produced that shows that they personally used that spelling. The use of "Johnson" appears on records created by native English speakers produced later in and after Jon's and Johanna's lifetime.
