Joseph Smith Worthen

Son of Samuel Worthen and his wife Sarah.   Joseph's obituary gives his year of arrival in Utah as 1850 but he and his family appear in the 1850 Iowa census under the surname "Worthing" (this enumeration was taken in September 1850 and they would not have traveled in the winter!)    Further research is needed to confirm the year of their travel and determine the name of the pioneer company with which they traveled.
