Lucy Jepsen
Paul and Lucy sailed to the United States in 1856 on the ship Thornton. They were joined by Maren Sophia Jorgensen and Rasmus Peter Hansen. The four of them are grouped together in Perpetual Emigrating Fund, Financial Accounts 1849-1886, Ledger B, p. 224.
Paul, Maren, and Rasmus all died en route to Utah.
Lucy married Peter Jensen on Aug. 30, 1858, in Utah.
In Denmark she used the name of "Lusie Hansdatter," but it appears that "Lucy Jepsen" is the name she used in the United States. The ship roster lists her as "Lovise." Her name, birth and death dates are confirmed by the inscription on her gravestone, in the Find a Grave Index under the name of "Lucy Jepsen Jensen."
