Mercy Patmore Poulton

Mercy sailed to America in 1856 on the ship Wellfleet, and her name appears on the ship manifest directly below the family of William Jones.  She married William in Boston, Massachusetts on 7 September 1856.  The ship manifest shows her name as "Mercy P. Pondon."

The Jones family’s travel to Utah in 1861 is confirmed by the birth of Ada Eugenia Jones en route on 30 July 1861, and also the obituary of Emily Mercy Jones.  Further research is needed to determine the name of the pioneer company with which they traveled to Utah.
