
Jonathan Hawaii Napela
Johathan was a early leader of the LDS church. He was taught the gospel by George Q. Cannon. He along with Elder Cannon translated the Book of Mormon into the Hawaiian language.

In addition to helping Elder Cannon translate the Book of Mormon into Hawaiian, he offered to give language lessons to new missionaries arriving on Maui along with housing and food. He often accompanyed the missionaries and taught the gospel with great power.
