The Lunsford family traveled to Utah in 1852. After their arrival, some of them moved on to California. In 1857, Sarah, along with her mother and siblings, joined the Robert Crow Company that was making its way back to Salt Lake City from Bernardino. At some point before the 1860 census, they returned to California.
