Thomas Jackson
Thomas and his wife, Joyce, traveled with their daughter and son-in-law. The family arrived in New York on 11 June 1866 via the ship Caroline. Though the Thompson company records only list Thomas, as head of household, the notation that he purchased four adult food rations indicates the rest of the group accompanied him during this portion of the journey as well. Local financial records support that he made the trip in 1866.
A son, Silas, traveled across the ocean with them, but did not make the overland trip until two years later.
