Elizabeth Keighan
Elizabeth Kaighin Taylor was born September 11, 1811, at Peel, Isle of Man. Her parents were Thomas Kaighin and Elizabeth Garrett. Elizabeth emigrated to Toronto, Canada where her cousin, Leonora Cannon Taylor and her husband John Taylor lived. On 9 May, 1836, Elizabeth Kaighin, along with John and Leonora Taylor joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, being baptized by Parley P. Pratt in Black Creek, near Toronto. The Taylor family immigrates to the United States traveling past Kirkland, Ohio and on to Missouri. Elizabeth becomes the second wife of John Taylor on 12 December 1843 being sealed for eternity in Nauvoo, Illinois. Elizabeth Taylor joins the Edward Hunter/Joseph Horne Company as they journey across the plains to Salt Lake City. Over time, John and Elizabeth have three children, a daughter and two sons. Elizabeth passed away on 3 September 1895, at age 83. She was buried in Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake City, Utah, United States.
